At the end of a T-intersection, Sidelight House presents a measured threshold — a veil that filters movement, light, and view. Its dual forms express solidity by day, transforming after dark as internal illumination traces the life within, animating the street with presence.

With a favourable orientation to the adjacent neighbour, the house turns sideways rather than frontward, allowing the principal living spaces to engage two distinct garden courts: one open and extroverted, the other enclosed and contemplative. Together, they offer a daily variation of light, shadow, and intimacy.
