At the end of a T-intersection, Sidelight House presents a measured threshold — a veil that filters movement, light, and view. Its dual forms express solidity by day, transforming after dark as internal illumination traces the life within, animating the street with quiet presence.

With a favourable orientation to the adjacent neighbour, the house turns sideways rather than frontward, allowing the principal living spaces to engage two distinct garden courts: one open and extroverted, the other enclosed and contemplative. Together, they offer a daily variation of light, shadow, and intimacy.
